Welcome to the Helsby R.U.F.C. Junior section! We are currently in the early stages of developing junior teams, but it is our ambition in the long term to field teams in all age groups from U7's to U17's.
New players are always welcome - no previous experience is necessary and only basic kit is needed to begin with.
The coaching sessions are lead by our RFU-qualified coaches and all
coaches who are regularly involved in coaching sessions have been screened
for their suitability to work with children. The club uses procedures
outlined in the RFU's
Child Protection Policy and operates Codes
of Conduct for coaches, officials, players, parents and spectators
alike. Helsby Rugby Club has been awarded the RFU's Seal of
Approval and we are also keen to establish links with local
schools with a view to further promoting the game within the local region.
We will run coaching sessions
for all age groups from U7 to U17 each Sunday from 10.30am to 12 noon
at Helsby Sports & Social Club - the pitches are located behind
the Tesco Superstore in Helsby. The sessions consist of non-contact
and contact drills as well as touch rugby and full contact rugby, so
a gum-shield is required.
