"The Club"

Home to Helsby Rugby Club is Helsby Community Sports Club - formerly known as Helsby Sports & Social Club and the former club for workers of the village's BICC factory, which is now independently run. The club is also home to the village football team, running club, bowls club, tennis club and fishing club - not to mention snooker and billiards teams!

The club has LIVE entertainment EVERY Saturday night to which non-members are also welcome (50p entrance fee).

Football

It's just like watching Brazil! Helsby F.C. currently run two senior teams, playing in the West Cheshire Leagues. New players are always welcome - training takes place on Tuesday evenings during the season and match day is Saturday, kick-off 3:00pm. Bowls

With a membership of almost 100 members including over 40 ladies, Helsby Bowling Club was formed in the early 1930's. It supports 12 teams, playing in six leagues - Frodsham, mid-Cheshire, Runcorn, Norley Afternoon, Halton Ladies and Frodsham Ladies. Each year seven open competitions and three member-only competitions are contested on well-maintained greens. New members - old and young alike - are welcome to join, where tuition and advice will be given if necessary as an introduction to the game. Tennis

Open to all ages, Helsby Tennis Club has three courts which are due for refurbishment in spring 2007. The club offers LTA coaching for Juniors and Seniors alike and caters for those who just want a social game as well as those who want to play competitive matches in the local leagues.

Running

Helsby Running Club currently boasts about 85 members of all ages and abilities. Club night is of a Wednesday evening and starts with the club training run at 6:30pm. We aim to provide a warm welcome to anybody in the area who is interested in running, whether you are a superstar or just want to take up some exercise to shed a few pounds. We have a number of race series throughout the year, our premier races being the Four Villages Half-Marathon and the Fodsham Classic. Fishing

Snooker & Biliards

The club has two full-size match play snooker tables, used by three teams which play in the Frodsham & District League on a Tuesday and Friday evening and one billiard team which plays on a Wednesday evening in the Frodsham & District Billiards League. In addition, two members-only competitions are also played for annually.
